If you decide to parent your baby, you might opt to breastfeed for many reasons, including:
- There are health benefits for the baby.
- There are health benefits for you.
- Breastfeeding is more cost-effective than formula.
- Some women find that breastfeeding helps them better bond with their babies.
Despite the benefits of breastfeeding, it doesn’t always come easy to women. Many women and babies struggle with the correct position and latch. It is common for first-time mothers to have questions about breastfeeding like:
- How do I know when the baby needs to nurse?
- How can I be sure the baby is getting enough?
- How do I ensure the baby has milk when I am unavailable to breastfeed?
Our lactation consultant offers classes to answer all these questions and more. New moms can also schedule a free session with the lactation consultant to have their concerns addressed so they can successfully breastfeed.
